From your observations, we can deduce that Spartan 6 devices have a JTAG chain of 1024 bits.

I have updated the software to support 1024 bit chains. Maybe I should have given some slack, but we can do that later. Please, test again with the version 1.0.12 of the library, I have just committed it, so it should be available for download in the Arduino IDE in more or less one hour.

Lets make it work. Right now im using an Arduino Uno in combination with a Xillinx XC6SLX25 (Spartan 6). I can switch to an Arduino Mega, which has 8k of ram.

We could try to make the buffer larger. "Uncrecognized line:" means...Hi Michael,

"Uncrecognized line:" means that the python upload script has not recognized the message sent by the arduino. It is not supposed to happen and has nothing to do with pyparser. Pyparser is used on the assembler module.

Maybe you are not passing the right parameter to xsvf. The program xsvf is able to perform basically 3 things: it is able to assemble a xsvf text file, it is able to disassemble a xsvf binary file, and it is able to send a xsvf binary file to the arduino. I suppose you are probably trying to assemble a xsvf text file. But if you follow that route, you need to do it in two steps: first you assemble with "xsvf -c assemble ...", and then you send the assembled file to arduino with "xsvf -c upload ..."

If you want to program the device, the usual route is to generate the xsvf file with the xilinx software "impact", and then upload it to the Arduino with "xsvf -c upload ..."

Please contact me if this is not enough information for you to make it work.

Regards,
Marcelo.Marcelo Roberto Jimenezhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00559195914754568252noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1034836236404925218.post-65477841991531430692015-11-03T17:55:53.409-02:002015-11-03T17:55:53.409-02:00This comment has been removed by the author.Marcelo Roberto Jimenezhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00559195914754568252noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1034836236404925218.post-43536756036363179822015-11-03T12:04:58.427-02:002015-11-03T12:04:58.427-02:00Hello Marcelo,
